Zoo Adventures (Ages 6 -10)

Do you know a child that dreams of spending his or her days surrounded by animals? Send them to ZooCamp!  Fill their days with games, hands-on activities, crafts, animal encounters and tours of the Zoo. 

Zoo Adventures Sessions
Winter Adventures | February 19 - 23, 2018

Don't keep the kids inside during February school vacation, send them to Winter Adventures ZooCamp. Children will enjoy a full day of crafts, hands-on and inquiry driven activities, encounters with wild animal ambassadors, and even bundled-up tours of the Zoo. Each camper will get an opportunity to feed the goats in the ALEX AND ANI Farmyard.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Price: Members: $270 / Non-members: $295

Please note: Only campers that attend all five (5) days will receive a t-shirt and ZooCamp Access Pass.

Theme: Winters Around the World- Have you ever wondered what winter is like in different places on Earth? During this camp we’ll explore winter in biomes all around the world. From the frozen arctic to the heat of the desert, no matter what the climate – campers will have fun!

  • Tuesday, February 20: Desert
  • Wednesday, February 21: Temperate Forest
  • Thursday, February 22: Savanna
  • Friday, February 23: Arctic

Spring Adventures | April 16 - 20, 2018

Shake off winter with a week filled with crafts, hands-on and inquiry driven activities, encounters with wild animal ambassadors, and guided Zoo tours. Each Spring Adventures camper will get a ZooCamp t-shirt, the opportunity to feed the goats in the ALEX AND ANI Farmyard, and a ZooCamp Access Pass.

Theme: Most Extreme- We’ve circled the globe and we’ve found them – the most extreme, amazing, and unbelievable animals. In this wild week campers will discover that being the fastest, the biggest, and the weirdest are really adaptations to help ensure their survival.

Summer Adventures | June 18 - August 24, 2018

Perfect for budding scientists, zoologists, explorers, artists, and kids who just love animals! Days are filled with crafts, hands-on and inquiry driven activities, encounters with wild animal ambassadors, and guided Zoo tours. Each Summer Adventures camper will get a ZooCamp t-shirt, a opportunity to feed the goats in the ALEX AND ANI Farmyard, and a ZooCamp Access Pass.

Theme - Odd Weeks: That Animal's Got Talent - Reality TV stars can’t compete with the superstars of the animal world.  Dancing cranes, crooning whales, fashionable decorator crabs and beavers that build – campers will be dazzled by the amazing talents of animals.  Vote for your favorite!

Theme - Even Weeks: Myth Busting: Fact or Fiction - Is it true that an elephant can’t jump?  Can camels store water in their humps?  Or are bats blind?  Explore animal myths and misconceptions and prove them fact or fiction.  One fact is for sure: campers will have an incredible time!

Important Camp Information
Please Read Before Registering
  • Registration for all ZooCamps begins at 9:00 am on Wednesday, January 10 at rwpzoo.org.  Registration deadlines are two weeks prior to your desired week of camp, but camps may sell out prior to deadlines.
  • Campers must be the minimum age of each camp at the time of attending camp. Requirements are not negotiable and are strictly enforced. RWP Zoo reserves the right to cancel your registration if your camper does not meet the minimum age requirement.
  • Refunds, minus a $25.00 registration fee per camper, will be given through February 1, 2018 for Winter ZooCamps, April 1, 2018 for Spring ZooCamps, and June 1, 2018 for Summer ZooCamps. Absolutely no refunds will be given after these dates.
  • $25 sibling discount applies to all ZooCamps. First registration at full price, $25 refunded for each sibling thereafter. Siblings must be registered within the same account.
  • Pre-paid lunch options for full-day campers are available. For $6.00/day, choose from cheese pizza, mac and cheese, a veggie quesadilla, ham & cheese bites, or a turkey & cheese sandwich.  All come with a 100% juice fruit punch and a piece of fruit packaged in recyclable and compostable containers.
  • Each ZooCamper will receive a ZooCamp Access Pass, redeemable for one of many activities during a return Zoo visit. More details available at rwpzoo.org as the season approaches. All 2018 ZooCamp Access Passes expire Labor Day 2018.
  • Aftercare 3:30 - 5:00 pm: For those parents that need a bit more time we offer after camp care Monday - Friday for $10/day per camper.
