Zoo Career Workshop

(Ages 13 - 17)

A lifetime of doing what you love and loving what you do can begin with a small step.  If you’ve ever dreamed about working with animals or in a zoo, this workshop could be the start of your amazing journey.

It takes a village to run a zoo and in this special program, teens will discover just how many different career opportunities a zoo holds. This educator-led workshop will include program animal encounters, tours of the John J. Palumbo Veterinary Hospital, animal commissary, and elephant & giraffe holding spaces, behind-the-scenes hands-on interactions with zookeepers that care for animals in Adaptations and Tropical America buildings, and more. Please note: specific activities are subject to change.

A Southwestern lunch buffet is included. For questions: Contact Jen Karow at 401-785-3510 x352 or

Check back next year for a new date/time.

All registrations are final. No refunds are given unless the program is cancelled by the Zoo.

After eating you will be escorted to the front of the pumpkin trail, to enjoy more than 5,000 jack-o-lanterns without waiting in line. Online registration is required.

Check back next year for a new date/time.

Zoomobile Programs

Our Zoomobile programs reach thousands of children, community groups and families all around New England every year. Through interactive educational presentations and live "animals interviews," the Zoomobile carries a message of compassion for all living things and a greater understanding of our wonder-filled living planet. All of our Zoomobile programs can be presented at the Zoo, or at your location.

Each program includes a lesson, activity, and 3 live animals and is presented to a seated audience (30 max.).
