Amazon Adventure Movie Screening

We cannot wait for our new Rainforest exhibit to open this Summer 2018! So much so, that we decided to bring the Amazon rainforest to you with a public movie screening of Amazon Adventures: A True Story of Scientific Discovery! The film traces the extraordinary journey of naturalist and explorer Henry Walter Bates and the bio-diversity of the Amazon Rainforest. Enjoy animal encounters, door prizes and a special meet-and-greet with Roger mascot before the movie; and a question and answer session after each showing of the movie with Zoo executive director, Dr. Jeremy Goodman and director of conservation, Lou Perrotti.

When: Thursday, March 22 at 6:30 pm

Where: Showcase Cinema (1200 Quaker Lane, East Greenwich, RI)

Visit with the Easter Bunny at Carousel Village

The Easter Bunny will be hopping over to the Carousel this Spring! Visit with the Easter Bunny, then enjoy a ride on the Carousel or play the day away in the fully accessible outdoor Hasbro Boundless Playground open daily all year. And don't forget to bring your camera.

Marco Polo’s adventure brought him face to face with the exotic animals of the Silk Road, and so will yours!  Start by dining on a hot breakfast buffet of baked pastries, fresh fruit, fluffy scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, breakfast potatoes, orange juice, cranberry juice, coffee, and water.  After breakfast, you’ll join zookeepers that care for the animals of Marco Polo’s Adventure Trek in opening for the day; climb into the bear exhibit to prep it for their arrival, get up close with a camel, and see the snow leopards, red pandas, cranes & takin get their first enrichment of the day.  Capacity is limited to 25 participants, so register early!

ZooCamp | Spring Adventures (Ages 6-10)

Shake off winter with a week filled with crafts, hands-on and inquiry driven activities, encounters with wild animal ambassadors, and guided Zoo tours. Each camper will get an opportunity to feed the goats in the ALEX AND ANI Farmyard.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm *SOLD OUT!
Price: Members: $270 / Non-members: $295

Please note: Only campers that attend all five (5) days will receive a t-shirt and ZooCamp Access Pass.

Theme: Most Extreme- We’ve circled the globe and we’ve found them – the most extreme, amazing, and unbelievable animals. In this wild week campers will discover that being the fastest, the biggest, and the weirdest are really adaptations to help ensure their survival.

ZooCamp | Spring Tadpole Academy (Ages 4-5)

Tadpole Academy is a great way to introduce 4 - 5 year olds to ZooCamp. Each session is only three hours long and includes stories, crafts, games, encounters with wild animal ambassadors and zoo exploration. Each Tadpole Academy camper receives a ZooCamp t-shirt, an opportunity to feed the goats in the ALEX AND ANI Farmyard, and a ZooCamp Access Pass. Plus, four and five year old campers may register for both a morning and an afternoon session for a full day of Tadpole Academy! 

Please note: All Tadpole Academy campers must be completely toilet trained (requiring no assistance in the bathroom).

Hours: Monday - Friday, April 16-20

  • Morning: 8:30 - 11:30 am 
  • Afternoon:12:30 - 3:30 pm

Price: Members: $170 (Full Day $340) / Non-Members: $195 (Full Day $390)

Theme: Who's In Your Backyard?  

  • AM: Project Cover-Up - Fur? Feathers? Scales? Which animals wear what? Discover the different types of animal coverings and how they help animals survive.
  • PM: Getting Around - Splish, splash, hip, hop. Animals get around in many different ways. Explore creatures that fly high, jump far and run fast!

    Please note: We offer supervision between sessions for full day campers. Register your child for a morning and afternoon session of the same week for a full day of Tadpole Academy.

    Party for the Planet

    It’s time to party, Party for the Planet that is, at Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, RI April 16 – 20.  This year’s event will celebrate the importance of conservation and our environment represented at the core of the mission at Roger Williams Park Zoo.  The week long bash introduces guests to some of the new Rainforest animals joining the Zoo family this summer, provide the opportunity to enjoy animal encounters with some interesting creatures, learn some circus acrobatics, participate in a drumming circle, sculpt, and sing. 

    Party for the Planet brings a new adventure every day:

    • Monday - Enjoy fun and educational programming by the Zoo’s Department of Education. Keepers will also be available to give talks and answer questions regarding animals.
    • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday - Explore a host of entertainers perfoming throughout the Zoo, enjoy WILD animal encounters, meet Roger the Red Panda mascot along with Paws and Sox mascots from the PawSox, Slyde from the New England Revolution soccer team, and NIROPE from Cardi’s Furniture & Mattress.  Or participate in drumming, singing, and sculpting activities! 
    • Friday - Discover animal encounters, keeper talks and then (weather permitting) the first Food Truck Friday of the season at Carousel Village beginning at 5:00 pm.

    Please note: Activites run from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm each day, and are FREE with Zoo admission.

    Bronx Zoo Daytrip (Ages 5 +)
