JAMBU FRUIT DOVE
Ptilinopus jambu

Look for me in the Malay Peninsula.

Can you find me?
Males are bright green, feemales are darker. The face, forehead and forecrown are a bright pinkish crimson with a large patch of bright pink on the chest. The green body allows it to hide in the forrest.

I like the shade:
Jambu fruit doves habitate in wooded areas.

Preferred grub: Mainly fruits and berries.

Reproduction: One white egg is laid in a loose stick nest. Hatching occurs after an incubation period of 14 days

FYI:
This bird is one of only a few fruit dove species doing well in U.S. collections. There are a total of 30 to 40 species of fruit dove.
