YELLOW-RUMPED CACIQUE

Range: Panama to central South America.
Hot and muggy: Humid lowland forest, forest edge, second growth
woodland, clearings, plantations, villages and towns.
What's for dinner? Berries, fruits and insects.
Check us out: Caciques are about nine to 12 inches in size.
About babies: A clutch of two to three eggs is laid. Incubation
period is 12 to 15 days,
Our hangout: These gregarious birds nest in conspicuous colonies,
constructing hanging nests. They are members of the family Icteridae,
the same as that of the American blackbird.
Status: Common.
