Furloughed Government Employees and Families Enjoy Free Admission
“We know that for many government employees and their families this is a stressful time,” says Dr. Jeremy Goodman, executive director of Roger Williams Park Zoo. “The Zoo is a tranquil and safe environment, and a visit with any of our animals is a great way to relax and enjoy time with family.”
Parking is free. Winter animals such as the snow leopard, red panda, and moon bear are out and enjoying the cooler temperatures. The Zoo’s new Faces of the Rainforest offering warmer temperatures and an indoor escape comes alive with a free-flying aviary, primates, giant otters and the opportunity to learn about animals of the Amazon.
Furloughed government employees must present their federal employee identification at the admissions window. Roger Williams Park Zoo is open daily from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm October – March; and 10:00 am – 5:00 pm April – October. For more information visit rwpzoo.org.
