Homeschool Offerings

We are excited to offer our In-Person Zoo School again for the 2022 to 2023 season. Pre-registration is required. See below for session details and stay tuned for information on registration.

Let the Zoo help support your teaching efforts through programming, resources and events. We design our programs to help families explore, discover and observe the natural world.

*Please note: A Roger Williams Park Zoo or Reciprocal Membership is required for all non-Zoo School participants including parents, guardians, and siblings. Without a membership, non-zoo school participants, entering the zoo for drop-off, will be required to pay admission.

Themes, Ages & Times:

Ages 4-5: Animal Exploration: A great introduction to Zoo School! Participants will explore a specific animal each month through stories, crafts, games, centers and encounters with animal ambassadors.

Ages 6-8: Up the food web! Explore how animals and plants use their amazing adaptations to get a meal! From decomposers to apex predators, they all must find a way to fill their bellies!

Ages 9-12: 150 Years at the Roger Williams Park Zoo: Zoo schoolers will gallop, fly, and hop through the history of the Roger Williams Park Zoo. Zoo Schoolers will be able to guide exploration of monthly topics based on their interests in zoo history.

Ages 13-16: Animals through time! From ice ages to unbelievable heat, animals have had to adapt to survive a changing world, and some were more successful than others. Take a look back at some of the coolest extinct animals and compare them with their modern-day counterparts.
