Bring family and friends to experience Holiday Lights Spectacular at Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, Rhode Island – an all new drive-through experience just in time for the holidays. Tickets are online sales ONLY and sold for each half hour (time slots are your arrival window to the Zoo – it isn’t reflective of trail exploration times). Trail will be open nightly beginning at 5:00 pm.
**Please note: Rapid COVID-19 testing to guests of the Holiday Lights Spectacular has been discontinued for the remainder of the show per the Rhode Island Department of Health. For more information or questions please visit covid.ri.gov or reach out via phone by calling (401) 222-8022. Guests who have pre-registered for a test at the show will be contacted by DOH to reschedule to another location.
Holiday Lights Spectacular is open rain or shine. NO REFUNDS OR RESCHEDULING. Any changes to your order must be processed (not just requested!) by 1/10/2021. Drive thru admission is only available per car and not per person. Reciprocal membership discounts and AAA discounts are not offered.

All guests entering Roger Williams Park Zoo are doing so at their own risk. Roger Williams Park Zoo will not be held responsible for injuries or damage to vehicles. Please review all rules before purchasing your ticket.
Driving through Roger Williams Park Zoo is much different than strolling on the Wetlands Trail. We ask that all our guests adhere to the following:
- Maximum capacity per vehicle is 7 passengers.
- Large commercial or oversized vehicles**, motorcycles, open side vehicles, and recreational devices (bicycles, scooters, skateboards, etc.) are not permitted.
- No busses allowed.
- Minivans and pickup trucks are permissible.
- For safety reasons, visitors cannot ride in the bed of pickup trucks.
**** The maximum size for a vehicle permitted in our Drive Thru Zoo experience is 224″ L x 81″ W x 74 H (roughly the size of a full-sized Suburban)
- For the safety of guests, staff, and the animals, guests NO Honking! Maximum speed 2-3 mph.
- Maintain 6 feet between vehicles.
- NO PASSING
- Guests may not exit their vehicle during the duration of the tour.
- Tailgates, doors, and hatchbacks must be closed.
- Objects may not be thrown out of a vehicle’s window.
- No pets are allowed on Zoo grounds.
- Smoking and alcohol are not permitted within the Zoo.
- Face coverings do not need to be worn while in your vehicle unless interacting with Zoo staff.

All tickets are rain-or-shine, and we don't offer refunds, rainchecks or rescheduling.
In the event of severe weather, updates will be made on our website and on our Facebook page. In the event of severe weather, we reserve the right to cancel. In this case, ticket holders will be able to change their reservation date by contacting Visitor Services at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 401-785-3510 ext 316.
If you call outside of hours of operation or are unable to reach a Zoo employee, please leave a message, and we will return your call when available.
To allow all guests ample time to enjoy the trail, expect an average 30 – 60 minute wait time before entry.
Each drive-through experience will last approximately 20-25 minutes.
Once the drive-through starts, guests cannot get out of their vehicles. Guests must remain seated and car doors must remain closed at all times when inside the zoo. You may open your windows.
In accordance with the Rhode Island Department of Public Health, masks MUST be worn covering the mouth and nose during any interactions with Holiday Lights Spectacular staff.
Yes, there are portable restrooms available in the Zoo's parking lots prior to entering the Zoo. Restrooms will not be available once on the Holiday Lights Spectacular trail.
