Get ready for big adventure as a tiny explorer in A Bug’s World, a new exhibit open April 11 – August 9. See the outdoors like an insect does, where blades of grass tower overhead, ants are the size of dogs, and butterflies feel larger than life.
A Bug’s World experience is not included with Zoo admission, a separate ticket is required.

Experience the outdoors from an insect’s perspective. Wander through towering plants, steer clear of the hungry Venus flytrap and come face to face with supersized caterpillars and beetles. This immersive, hands-on exhibit featuring more than 60 larger-than-life bugs, brings the busy world of backyard insects to life while showing how these tiny creatures play a big role in our environment and how we can help protect them.

Groups with 10 or more paying guests save! Group discounted rate for both adults and children (ages 2 & up) is just $5 per person.
All A Bug’s World group tickets are sold online-only, and will not be sold at the exhibit. E-tickets are automatically sent after purchase and to prevent traffic issues at the entrance, group members must distribute tickets to their attendees before arriving on grounds. A Bug’s World tickets are a separate fee from daytime admission, so be sure to check out our daytime admission group rates here.
Please note: this is a special feature, so chaperones do not receive complimentary admission and Providence Schools also do not attend free. Every attendee must have a ticket to enjoy A Bug’s World feature.

Join us from 8:00 – 9:00 am on Sunday, April 26 and Sunday, July 5 for special sensory-friendly mornings an hour before the bug’s trail opens to the public: designed for those with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and sensory processing differences and their families.

Join us for an evening at the Zoo on Saturday, June 6 and Saturday, August 8 from 5:00 – 9:00 pm. Explore the tiny world of bugs in a BIG way – at night! Wander through giant plants and oversized vegetables, crawl into massive honeycombs, climb across spider webs, and steer clear of the hungry Venus flytrap. Along the way, come face to face with larger-than-life caterpillars, beetles, spiders, and more. Your ticket includes access to the entire Zoo and unlimited access to the A Bug’s World walk-through experience.
Add some adventure to your visit with an exhilarating zip ride! Zip ride tickets are sold on-site only at the Explore & Soar ticket booth located at the end of A Bug’s World trail.
Ride tickets are $6.00 per rider and are sold until 3:15 pm, with the last ride at 3:30 pm. All riders require tickets. Zip ride is open weather permitting.
Active Roger Williams Park Zoo members save $2 off A Bug’s World tickets.
- To receive the member discount for online tickets, all members must log into their online member account (at the top-right of the screen) and the discount will automatically apply at checkout.
- Reciprocal memberships do not apply.
- Member discounts are ONLY VALID for the number of people that are covered by the membership.
Guests may use strollers, wheelchairs, and wagons throughout the Zoo. The Zoo pathway is fully wheelchair accessible.
