We are thrilled about the warm welcome that our ne We are thrilled about the warm welcome that our newest resident Carsie the Capybara has received thus far! We have received a lot of questions, and we want to help you get to know him a little better.

While capybaras are social animals, Carsie was unfortunately bullied and injured by his previous group. Because he’s now fearful of other capybaras, he’s currently living solo for his own safety. We are keeping an extra close eye on his well-being and are already exploring unique companionship options for him. Stay tuned for updates.

Carsie is adjusting very well to his habitat and building trust and bonds with his keepers. We are very excited he has joined our Zoo family, and can't wait for you all to meet him in the Faces of the Rainforest! 💙
