Roger Williams Park Zoo Welcomes Two New Board Members

PROVIDENCE, RI (January 5, 2023) Roger Williams Park Zoo is pleased to announce that John Igliozzi and Cindy M. Erickson have joined the Rhode Island Zoological Society Board of Directors. The Zoo’s Board of Directors thoughtfully ensures the continued prosperity of the Zoo and furthers its efforts in conservation, education, and community outreach.

Igliozzi is the former Providence city council president, who began serving on the city council in 1997. He also served as the finance committee chairman for 14 years, previously serving as majority whip and majority leader.

Igliozzi has worked tirelessly throughout his career to improve the city of Providence and ensure a high standard of living for all its residents. A lifelong supporter and fan of the Zoo, Igliozzi will bring the same care and commitment to the Zoo that he brought to Providence.

Cindy M. Erickson is the Executive Vice President/HR Chief Administrative Officer at Citizens Financial Group, Inc. She has over four decades of experience working in human resources and a strong performance history in various HR disciplines. Additionally, she oversees HR Finance and Technology Solutions and broad enterprise projects. Erickson is excited to join the Rhode Island Zoological Society and bring her executive skills and human resource expertise to the board.

Silva; Maribeth Q. Williamson.
