Roger Williams Park Zoo and Roger Williams Park Welcome the Brown University Community with Free Admission Through January 4
Providence, R.I. (December15, 2025) In response to the tragic events at Brown University this past weekend, Roger Williams Park Zoo is opening its gates to members of the Brown University community as a gesture of care and support.
Through January 4th, any individual with a current Brown University ID, includingstudents, faculty, and staff, is invited to visit the Zoo free of charge during regular daytime hours or during the evening Holiday Lights Spectacular. Complimentary admission applies to the individual presenting the valid ID and plus one guest.
Additionally, the City of Providence’s Parks Department is also offering free admission to the Brown community for entry to the Botanical Center and the Museum of Natural History & Planetarium during this time.
“We recognize that times of loss and uncertainty can weigh heavily on a community,” said Stacey Johnson, Roger Williams Park Zoo’s executive director. “The Zoo and the park are places of nature, connection, and reflection, and we hope it can offer a small measure of comfort to those impacted.”
Visitors should present their Brown University ID at the Zoo’s admission gate. No advance registration is required.
