Today is World Binturong Day, a time to celebrate Today is World Binturong Day, a time to celebrate one of the most interesting mammals native to the rainforests of southeast Asia. Binturongs are famous for smelling like buttered popcorn, but they are also incredible “gardeners”, playing a huge role in keeping the rainforest healthy.

Did you know? Binturongs don’t just live in the trees; they help grow them! They are one of the only animals capable of digesting the seeds of the strangler fig, helping to disperse them in different spots through their droppings (yes, 💩!) effectively planting new life all over the jungle.

By sharing their story, we can help protect these incredible creatures and the forests they call home!
