Taking hoof care to new heights! πŸ¦’ In honor of Int Taking hoof care to new heights! πŸ¦’ In honor of International Hoof Care Month, we are shining a spotlight on the incredible work our giraffe team has been doing on hoof trim training.

This training requires incredible trust between our keepers, vet staff, and our giraffes. Cora, our female giraffe is choosing to participate in her own healthcare, positioning her hooves exactly where the team needs them for a good trimming, thanks to the guidance of her trainers. Getting to this point comes from countless hours of positive reinforcement training (lots of snacks!) and building that trust. These regular hoof trims are important for preventative care, keeping them balanced and their joints comfortable.

Our Zookeepers know all about love languages! πŸ’— Th Our Zookeepers know all about love languages! πŸ’— This Valentine’s Day, we are highlighting how our keepers spend every day learning the unique love languages of their animals.

These incredible bonds are built on lots of love, trust, and snacks! When the keepers can speak their love language, our animals are happy, healthy, and thriving! Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at the Zoo πŸ’Œ
