Let the Zoo help support your teaching efforts through programming, resources and events. We design our programs to help families explore, discover and observe the natural world. Pre-registration is required. See below for session details and information on registration.
*Please note: A Roger Williams Park Zoo membership is required for all non-Zoo School participants including parents, guardians, and siblings. Without a membership, non-zoo school participants, entering the zoo for drop-off, will be required to pay admission.
2025-2026 Zoo School Details:
Join Roger Williams Park Zoo for a series of monthly, hour-long classes, designed for homeschool students. These drop-off classes start in October and run through May. Pre-registration is required.
Program Cost (8 week session): $136
Classes will be held the first Friday of the month from October- May (10/3, 11/7, 12/5, 1/2, 2/6, 3/6, 4/3, 5/1)
4-5 year olds: Animal Exploration – 10:30 AM SOLD OUT / 12:00 PM SLOTS STILL AVAILABLE
6-8 year olds: Stripes and Rainbows: Colors and Patterns in the Animal World – SOLD OUT
9-12 year olds: Glitter and Glow: Colors and Patterns in the Animal World – SOLD OUT
13-16 year olds: Animal Optics
2025-2026 Zoo School 4-5 Year Old Mini Series:
Program Cost (3 week session): $51
Animal Exploration– Dive deeper into animal exploration with these three week mini series! Participants will explore groups of animals through stories, crafts, games, centers, and encounters with animal ambassadors.
October 16, 23 & 30: Tongues
January 15, 22 & 29: Teeth
March 19, 26 & April 2: Toes
April 16, 30 & May 7: Talents
2025-2026 Zoo School 6-8 and 9-12 Year Old Monthly Mondays:
Program Cost (Individual Classes): $17*
Conservation Connections– Join us as we dive into brand-new conservation adventures-featuring everything from beetles that bury to rattling rattlesnakes! Each exciting session spotlights a different conservation initiative either at RWPZ or beyond, with hands-on activities, live animal encounters, and awesome actions that learners can take to help protect our plant. Come explore, discover, and make a difference-one wild creature at a time!

Reminder for ALL PROGRAMS: A RWPZoo membership is required for all non-Zoo School participants including parents, guardian, and siblings. Without a membership, non-zoo school participants, entering the zoo for drop-off, will be required to pay admission. Learners must be with an adults at all times in the zoo. Pick up and drop off of all Zoo School participants at the program location is REQUIRED. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.
Cancellation Policy:
- Refunds, minus a $15.00 processing fee per child, will be given up to 2 weeks before the start of your program. No refunds will be made after this date. There is a one-time registration fee for all class dates. We will not prorate for missed classes.
- A minimum number of registrants is required to run a class. Families will be notified 48 hours in advance of the first scheduled class and be issued a full refund if a class needs to be cancelled due to low enrollment.
